6th Ed Parking Lot, and why it's awesome!

So after play-testing the 1,500 pt list I put up the other day, I learned a few things including how durable vehicles can actually be in this new edition all things considered. I won my challenge game with that list against Dark Angels Deathwing, and the only vehicles I lost were my speeders. Here's a look at another list I'm planning on running:

Blood Angels lists for 6th Edition

So this week I came up with a few lists for 6th Edition 40k with my Blood Angels that I want to try out. I made a list for 1,500 points for our Pyramid League, and a 2,000 point list (or, "1,999 + 1"). Here's what's in them and how I plan on using them.

Colossals

Last wek Privateer Press released their Colossals book (just one month after the release of the Stormwall and Artificer General Nemo models). I picked up my copy last weekend from my local game store and have been going over it in-depth, but for now I'd like to talk a little bit about the rules for Colossals as well as the Cygnar side of units from the new book.

6th Edition 40k Review - First Thoughts

So here we are a few weeks after the release of the 6th Edition of 40k. This brand new edition brings a ton of new and exciting changes to the game as usual, and this time the core rulebook introduces ways to use Flyers, Allies, and for the first time ever it even allows pre-measuring. I have gotten the chance to play three games of 6th Edition as well as watch about a dozen games so I'd like to give you my "first thoughts" on some of the rules changes. Initially though, I'd like to say I love it so far! :)

Be Excellent to each other

I am almost 29 years old. I've been playing boardgames and video games (starting with arcade games and the Atari) since I was a child, card games since 1994, 40k since 1996, and role-playing games since 2001. I've lived in four states (and played games in all of them), and been a part of four official gaming clubs. I currently run a club that has consisted of over 100 members at once, and has survived the transition from one store to another. I have been an official judge/tournament organizer for four companies spanning over a dozen different games, and I have hosted and played in several tournaments both local and regional-level. I've even helped playtest and develop several games, written hundreds of game reviews, as well as written my own content and even unofficially published them. I've gotten into many rules arguments, made several great friends, met a lot of nice people, lost a few friends, met some jerks, and had some extremely enjoyable and memorable games in the process. I contemplated opening my own store and got as far as completing a fully fleshed-out business plan and speaking with realtors. I even met my awesome amazing wife at a gaming store where she worked.

Needless to say I have a bit of experience being a "gamer". I have met a lot of different types of people and seen several different group dynamics in the process and have enjoyed every bit of it.

Why does any of this matter?

Ork Dred Mob

So I was thinking about how to make a cool Dred Mob list for Orks given the new Force Organization rules when playing games at 2,000 points, and I came up with something rather....disgusting...

Warhammer 40,000 - 6th Edition

So the 6th edition of Warhammer 40k is finally here! 5th edition was a blast. I had a ton of fun with it and I personally logged almost 1,000 games of it since it's release! After having read most of the rules I have to say I'm quite impressed with the changes they made, and thinking about what the new codexes might contain excites me even more! So let's dive into the rulebook and talk about some things that not everyone may have noticed yet...
